Core Faculty, Counseling and Psychology (Open Rank)
The OpportunityLesley University is seeking a core faculty member
to teach and advise students in the Counseling and Psychology
master's and doctoral programs. This position reports to the
Associate Provost for Mental Health and Wellbeing and collaborates
closely with the Chair of the Graduate Department of Counseling and
Psychology. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to teaching,
reflective practice, and scholarship, with a strong emphasis on
social justice and trauma-informed counseling approaches.
Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in
trauma-informed practices, field training, or PreK-12 school
counseling. Additionally, the University seeks a faculty member
interested in coordinating the Counseling and Psychology School and
Community specialization, preparing students for licensure as
Licensed Mental Health Counselors or School Counselors in
Massachusetts. Responsibilities include teaching a full-time course
load, advising students in partnership with success personnel,
participating in institutional functions, developing and reviewing
effective teaching methods, collaborating on faculty evaluations,
and engaging in scholarship relevant to their expertise.
Qualities and Capabilities The
successful candidate will:
- Be near completion in a doctoral program, or have a doctoral
degree in Counseling Psychology, counselor education and
supervision, or related field by the time of hire
- Possess at least two years of graduate level teaching
experience
- Have Demonstrated a commitment to social justice perspectives
in teaching, service and practice
- Be licensed or license eligible in Massachusetts as an LMHC,
LICSW, LMFT, LPC, LPCC, or related professional (and/or for
candidates applying to coordinate the School and Community Program,
be licensed/license eligible for Massachusetts DESE School
Counseling or School Adjustment Counseling licensure)
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication,
administrative, and organizational skills
- Prior experience advising graduate students strongly
preferred
